Martin County’s Communities Have All the Comforts of Home.

Located on Florida’s east coast lays a community that truly has it all.   With all the conveniences of a big city, but still a quaint southern community, Stuart Florida has everything you need to enjoy the very best of life.  Stuart is bordered by the St. Lucie River to the North and of the Indian River to the east. Palm City, Stuart Florida’s sister city, is an unincorporated town located in Martin County, governed by the Martin County Board of County Commissioners. Martin County is divided into 5 districts. Palm City is represented as part of District 5.

All governmental functions are carried out by the Martin County offices.  Police protection is provided by the Eastern County Operations Division of the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Fire and EMS services are provided by Martin County Fire Rescue.

Martin County residents get most of their electric service from Florida Power & Light (FPL).  FPL has kept its typical residential customer bills among the very lowest of all 55 electric utilities in Florida. It has done so by investing in more efficient power generation technology than its competitors.  FPL’s operating costs are the lowest of all utilities in the country with more than 100,000 customers.  These improvements saved FPL customers approximately half a billion dollars in fuel costs in 2010 alone.  FPL has saved more megawatts than nearly any other utility in the country.
